We are offering lactation consulting with Erica Swedberg who is a certified IBCLC. Erica can help if you are having any breastfeeding difficulties. She can help to diagnose breastfeeding issues whether it’s related to mother, baby or both. At Origins Natural Health and Midwifery, she is able to work closely with Dr. Hurd and Dr. Jones to provide comprehensive care such as treating thyroid issues, low milk supply or tongue/lip-ties with frenotomies, if necessary.
Concerns addressed are including but not limited to: latch and positioning, plugged milk ducts, sore and/or damaged nipples, low milk supply, pumping, over supply, mastitis, breast tenderness, supplementation needs and tongue tie and/or lip tie. She can also address preconception concerns such as breast assessment, evaluation of any breastfeeding issues you may have had with a prior child, breast/nipple surgeries, flat or inverted nipples, health issues, hormonal concerns such as insulin dependent diabetes, history of PCOS and infertility, multiples pregnancy (twins, etc.) or other concerns that may affect breastfeeding. She can also help you navigate going back to work and concerns/logistics with making this happen successfully.

If you would like to schedule a visit with Erica, just call Origins Natural Health and Midwifery at 360-863-3223. Both mother and baby are assessed and treated; therefore, each are separately billed to insurance. Keep this in mind if you have a copay, deductible, and/or coinsurance.
