Hello! I’m Katie Kozowski, the resident at Origins Natural Health and Midwifery. I was born in Los Angeles and raised in the PNW. I received my undergraduate degree from Western Washington University in English Literature and spent some time as a freelance writer and editorial intern. When I was 25 I moved to Liberia as a Peace Corps Volunteer, but my time was cut short due to the Ebola outbreak. While there I witnessed their extremely strong sense of community and learned its essential role in our health and happiness. I then lived in Northern California and spent a year and a half working on a farm and learning about plants, herbs, and a new way of understanding our relationship with nature. My time in Liberia and California made me realize I wanted to be a doctor, and I chose Naturopathic Medicine for its integration of traditional and modern medical practices. I graduated from Bastyr University in 2023 with a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and a Master’s in Acupuncture. I love working in primary care and pediatrics. I received Traditional Chinese Medicine training in acupuncture, tui na, fire cupping, moxibustion, electroacupuncture, five elements, and auricular acupuncture. I live in Seattle with my husband and when I’m not working you can usually find me outside running, hiking, biking, backpacking, paddle boarding, or just relaxing at home with a latte and a good book.
